Social Worker – Guernsey, Channel Islands

Salary: £41,378 – £52,124 per annum

Occupational Health Staffing is looking to recruit a Social Worker on a full-time permanent basis to work in Guernsey, Channel Islands. Working as part of the Children and Family Community Services department the role will entail assisting in the provision and further development of an effective service for children and families and also to assist in the provision of an effective Children and Families Social Work Service. This will include undertaking child protection investigations, early help assessments and work with children in need, children in need of protection and children subject of Care Requirements.
The main duties are: –
– Actively participate in multi-agency information sharing, risk assessments and decision-making discussions
– Respond to child protections concerns and undertake single and joint Child Protection Investigations when required.
– Complete Early Help Assessments identifying the most appropriate interventions to support children and their families.
– Undertake tasks requested by the Practice Manager.
– Hold a caseload of child in need, child protection and care requirement cases.
They offer an attractive relocation package and, if you rent private accommodation, you will be entitled to a £5,000 lump sum, a rent allowance payable over 2 years and a house purchase grant where applicable. As an alternative, they also offer single subsidised staff accommodation and a £500 lump sum to support your relocation.

To apply:
– Hold a Social Work degree with a current HCPC registration
– Post qualification experience in child protection work
– Knowledge and understanding of theory and legislation that affects children and families and a good knowledge of childcare practice, particularly in relation to child protection and looked after children
